RiverPark has devoted approximately 170 acres to recreation, including wooded parklands along the historic Brazos River. A 3.2-acre community park with a competition pool, wading pool, pavilion, splash pad and meeting room is evidence of RiverPark’s commitment to its residents.
Community Services
RiverPark Shopping Center, a major regional shopping center, opened in the spring of 2003 at U.S. 59 and the Grand Parkway. The 45-acre shopping center is anchored by an HEB supermarket and includes such tenants as Bank of America, Walgreens, Blockbuster and a 100,000-square-foot Star Furniture showroom. Recent dining facilities now open in the center include Joe’s Crab Shack, Chick-Fil-A, Chili’s and Salt Grass Steakhouse. Memorial Hermann Healthcare System recently purchased 28 acres within the development for the creation of its new Sugar Land Hospital campus. The first phase of the full service Hospital and Professional Building I opened in 2006. RiverPark is located near the highly regarded community of Sugar Land where libraries, the University of Houston/Sugar Land and First Colony Mall are just minutes away.
Schools
RiverPark is located in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. More than 75% of Lamar CISD graduates are college-bound, and half of the high school graduates are recommended or distinguished program participants, making them “Texas School Grant Eligible.”
